Ca’ Amadi is a small palazzo steeped in history, fortunate to be situated in a privileged location in Venice: a picturesque private courtyard where only our guests and the Venetians who live beside us arrive. Venice, indeed, offers countless hotels, bed and breakfasts and tourist accommodations of every type and for every taste. We are aware of this, just as we are aware that there is nowhere else in Venice quite like Ca’ Amadi.
A unique history
Palazzo Amadi was first home to the family of Marco Polo—yes, that very Marco Polo, the celebrated traveller and author of The Travels—then to Count Francesco Amadi with his consort and their descendants. A nobleman with prestigious positions in the Most Serene Republic of Venice, Count Amadi loved to open the doors of his palazzo to welcome illustrious figures who came to visit the Serenissima. Among these, in 1452, was Emperor Frederick III of Habsburg with his young wife, Princess Eleanor of Portugal.
Today at Ca’ Amadi we have embraced Count Francesco’s calling for hospitality and have reopened the doors of the palazzo to welcome travellers seeking a place where they can experience that spirit of welcoming cultures, experiences and traditions from even the most distant worlds, which has always distinguished the spirit of the Serenissima.
At Palazzo Amadi it’s like having a home in Venice. You live in freedom, each at your own pace, meeting in the salon overlooking the canal, the Portego, taking a break between a museum visit and shopping at the Fontego dei Tedeschi, getting to know people from all over the world: all in a tranquil cosmopolitan atmosphere.
